I work part time as a bartender downtown in the newly renovated Colcord Building. The Colcord Hotel is located on the
corner of Sheridan and Robinson. The hotel was just recently re-opened and I work in the lounge in the bottom, XO Lounge.
The lounge is really swanky and sexy. Everyone that walks in there says that they feel like they are not in Oklahoma! We mainly
serve martinis, wine, and cocktails. However, we do carry a diverse selection of beers. We do not sale any domestic
beers so the people that are used to drinking Bud Light have to make a different (better) selection! I work anywhere
from 20-30 hours per week and I am also enrolled in 18 hours of school. It is a really good job to have while trying to finish
up school. A few of my friends work with me so that makes it really fun. I have worked in the restaurant industry ever since
I have been going to UCO. Previously, I worked at Chili's and Bravo. I graduate in May and am planning to get into medical
equipment sales. Working in the service industry has helped me to meet several different people. It has been a great
way to network. I enjoy that aspect of my job very much. I like talking to new people and seeing new faces everyday at work.
Working in the XO Lounge is pretty laid back. I am ready to move on and get a more professional job. I get tired
of working until three in the morning and not having weekends off! I plan to keep my job until I graduate in May.
